A few years ago, Instagram provided users with an option to easily share their Instagram posts to their Facebook account using the ‘Post to Other Apps…’ option. However, it may happen that this option doesn’t work perfectly at times. 1. Link your Facebook account with Instagram again
One of the prerequisites of sharing your Instagram post to Facebook is to link both accounts. If not linked correctly, you won’t be able to share successfully.
Here’s how you can link your Facebook account with Instagram
- Open the Instagram app and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap the three-bar icon.
- Next, go to Settings.
- Tap Accounts.
- Now, tap ‘Sharing to Other Apps’ → Facebook.
- Enter your Facebook Credentials to continue.
- Select if you want to share the posts to your profile or any page handled by you and tap continue.
- Tap Yes, Finish Setup.
That’s it, and now your Instagram account should be connected to your Facebook account. You can try sharing your Instagram posts with your Facebook account. If it still doesn’t work, move on to the next step.
Logging out can sometimes help you fix Instagram not sharing on Facebook issues. To log out of Instagram, follow the steps mentioned below.
2. Logout of Instagram and Facebook account
- Open the Instagram app, and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap the three-bar icon in the top-right corner → Settings.
- Now scroll down and tap Log Out of your account.
To log out of Facebook:
- Open the Facebook app.
- Tap the three-bar horizontal menu icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down and tap Log Out.
Now, log in to Facebook and Instagram again, and follow the steps to link your Facebook account with Instagram.

3. Change your Facebook account password
Changing your Facebook password to enable Instagram share might seem a bit unusual, but it could help you out in the scenario where you are running a wrong session.
Changing your password logs you out of all the active sessions and allow you to share posts from Instagram to Facebook. Follow the steps below to change the password.
- Open the Facebook app.
- Tap the three-bar horizontal menu icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down, and tap Settings & Privacy → Settings.
- Now tap Security and login → Change Password.
- Enter the new password and save changes.
After changing the password, you will be logged out of all the active sessions. So, log into the Facebook app and link your Facebook account with Instagram using the new password.
4. Disconnect Facebook from Instagram
In some cases, you will need to disconnect and reconnect your Facebook account from Instagram. Like after changing the Facebook account password, Instagram sometimes doesn’t log you out from your Facebook account and will keep sharing posts. This will lead to failure in posting.
Here’s how you can do the same.
- Open the Instagram app and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap the three-bar icon in the top-right corner → Settings.
- Next, select Accounts → Sharing to Other Apps → Facebook.
- Tap Accounts Centre.
- Select username or name (Accounts and profiles).
- Tap Facebook account → Remove From Account Centre.
- Now, hit Continue → Remove.
This will disconnect Facebook from your Instagram account. Now restart your phone and link your Facebook account with Instagram, as mentioned earlier.

Sorry to hear that. Have you tried complaining to Instagram – Open Instagram app → go to your profile → tap the three line icon → select Settings → Help → Report a Problem → Something Isn’t Working and then share your issue with screenshot. Hopefully, the developers could help you resolve the issue.
I’ve been making posts on IG from my computer but they won’t post on Facebook. If I post from my phone, it will post on Facebook. How can I have posts made from the computer also post on Facebook?
