How to download Twitter videos on iPhone, iPad and Mac

Twitter is a popular social media platform where you can come across various forms of content based on images, videos, and text. While there is an option to download the images and even copy the text, Twitter is yet to introduce any official way to download videos on Twitter.

So, what will you do if you come across a video on Twitter that you would like to keep in your camera roll or even share with someone who doesn’t use the app? Don’t worry; I have brought you the 3 easiest ways to download Twitter videos on iPhone, iPad, and Mac!

1. Use online tool to save Twitter videos on iPhone or Mac

  1. Hit the share icon next to the video tweet.
  2. Select Copy Link.
    For Mac, select Copy link to tweet.

  3. Visit SSStwitter.com
  4. Paste the link from the clipboard.
  5. Hit Download.

  6. Wait a bit and then select the quality of the video to download.
  7. Wait for some time for the process to start.
  8. On iPhone, Select Download. (On Mac, select Save)

You can find the downloaded video inside the Files app on iPhone and in Finder on Mac.

Notes: Apart from the one we have used here, you can use any other online tool for downloading Twitter videos. Just ensure that the websites are malware-free

2. Save videos from Twitter on iPhone using Shortcuts app

  1. Visit tvdl.app using Safari on your iPhone or iPad and tap Get the Shortcut.
  2. Tap Add Untrusted Shortcut.

  3. Open Twitter and tap the Share icon below a video tweet.
  4. Tap Share via…
  5. Tap TVDL v3.1 (This number may be different for you.)

  6. When the notification appears, tap OK.
  7. Choose your desired video quality and tap OK.
  8. Allow the shortcut to access Photos so that it can save the video locally. And you’re done!
    Note: You only have to follow steps 6 through 8 for the first go around.

Apart from the other mentioned methods, you can also use the help of third-party apps to download Twitter videos on your iPhone and Mac.

3. Hack: Use built-in screen recording to capture Twitter videos

If you don’t want to try hard, you can simply screen record on iPhone or screen record on Mac. However, you will have some extra clips at the beginning and end of the screen recording. You can quickly solve that by using any video editing apps for iPhone or Mac to iron out those issues.
